Saw these over the last couple of days at the nature reserve up the road at Otmoor.

Quite a good show today
This one looks like the human torch is attacking a church :)

These two big balls of starlings looked like they were going to collide

All good but my favourite is the top one. It looks like the head and shoulders of a human in flight. :)

I saw the starlings at Aberystwyth earlier this year and it was rather good. Your pictures are fab.

I do get to see the jackdaws murmurating round here, albeit in smaller numbers. One day I'll have my camera and stop and take some pics. I see them round the other side of the hill I live on, but I don't see them by my house.

I like the second and third best where the church tower looks like a firework or confetti gun

It's an amazing sight. It's cool to see the build up too. Just as the sun is going down little groups start to arrive like squadrons of planes in WWII. Then they join in to the main group which gets bigger and swoops around a lot until they decide to land and then they drop like a dart to the ground and settle in. Over the next 20 minutes or so, other groups arrive as well. It's like every starling in Oxfordshire was turning up for a big party :)
