Mandarins

Post by johnd83 »

Good Evening all,

Had a trip over to a new location for me today. A lovely little place called Reddish Vale Country Park in Stockport, Manchester. What a lovely surprise it was too to see a pair of Mandarin Ducks. I would not have expected them at this time of year. Are they an all year round duck?

Here are a couple of shots from today.

Lovely photos.
Mandarins are an introduced species or escapees from collections. There are pockets of them around the UK. I used to see them in the Forest of Dean a few years ago. I haven't been recently to see if they're still there.
