(You have to be on your honour here - for about 4 hours try to work out the outcome before you are driven in despair to actually making the thing to arrive at the solution) -
Take a strip of paper about 10 inches (25 centithingies ) long and an inch wide. Hold it up and twist the lower end 180 degrees then stick the two ends together so they are flat. You now have a band with a single twist in it.
Make a small hole in the centre of the strip and cut all around the middle of the band until you reach the place you began.
What is the final result ?
In the last few weeks Mrs JS has been very industriously knitting. Various wools have been dug out and knitted into oblongs. I had never bothered to find out what the end result was going to be but just assumed that some king of woolly garment would be the end result. That is until today when I saw her unraveling the knitting back into balls. I enquired as to why all the industry had failed to produce anything viable and was told she was only knitting to pass the time

I've heard everything now .......
Not quite......she has started knitting again from the wool she unraveled yesterday

Mrs JS could knit scarves for kids to keep them warm during winter my mum does this, she says scarves are the easiest items to knit, she donates them to a church who use them in their shoebox appeal at Christmas.
