Whilst transferring vital dates from one diary to 2020 - you know: 1 April: Haggi Shearing Day, 24 December: Capercailzie Plucking Afternoon, 25 January: Burrrns' Nicht - and I discover that the May Day Bank Holiday (Monday, 4 May) has been amalgamated with VE 75th Anniversary Day on Friday, 8 May.
That's nice .

Re Storm Dennis - this is becoming serious !! For the first time in my life I've received an email from our power supplier advising me what to do in case of an outtage - emergency numbers to call, hints such as keep the freezer door closed  and don't panic.
Don't panic ?!?!?!?! :sofa: :rolleyes2: :faint: I was all right 'til I got that.

They like to be seen as "doing something". My old uncle doesn't do the interweb so they ring him up and ask if he's OK. Last winter he got a call to say his power would be restored in a couple of days after a major outage. H e was greatly comforted. :cold2: :old:

They're certainly 'doing something' all right ! They've got us all panic-stricken - feverishly lashing down the freezer door (that'll help), throwing out all the candles (dangerous), buying a new-fangled thingy called a "torch" and stock-piling knee-rugs.

The Men arrived today (complete with shiny new stand-on mower) and began to mow everyone's lawns. It immediately rained for the first time for a week .

Thanks Placi  I've never seen one of those before. It looks a bit quick for me and I might end up mowing un-lawned areas
