Re: chit chat
Placi......Was your barmy Australian cousin caught up in the recent conflagrations? If so is he OK?
Re: chit chat
Unfortunately Mad Bill went to meet The Great Kookaburra In The Sky a couple of years ago at the all too premature age of 86. His widow (who is actually the one who is related to me by blood) is still living in the house; I think no self-respecting conflagration would dare to come anywhere near.
Just as a matter of interest, Mad Bill's ancestors got to Oz via His Majesty's pleasure in the very early 1800's by dint of a related father and son nicking a bag of tools and being transported.
The social hierarchy Down Under works like being transported centuries ago gives a family almost aristocratic status and Bill was very proud of his heritage.
I've often wondered what happened to the wife and other kids when the father and son were removed from English society. Aaaaanyway, Mad Bill still demonstrated the same gene line.
Imagine ... a bag of tools

Uncle tells me things have been fairly quiet lately. He has had no unsolicited deliveries but he did have two mousetraps removed from a secure location with no sign as to how they were removed.Placido wrote: Thu Jan 30, 2020 8:56 am On a similar subject ..... may one enquire as to the latest re The Strange Case Of The Kinetic Teapot ?

Boring everybody silly on BBC2
<<< yawn.
The dialogue and general atmosphere seems to be pitched at 10-y.o.s. Mind you, The Sky At Night is even worse.

Re: chit chat
I was watching the TV programme "Tenable" today where contestants have to answer 10 questions of increasing cash value. The final contestant was asked to say what species of bird was being hinted at by giving the prefix i.e. If you were given House the most obvious answer would be Sparrow. there were a couple of tricky one for a person not interested in birds such as "Hooded" which is ,of course, Crow. She first suggested Robin which was wrong so she lost a life then thought there was a Greater Spotted Tit but luckily for her Bearded was one of the clues so she got one right. She then said "Finch" but alas there were no finch species on the list.
Here are some she didn't know

Apologies for not posting much at present. Unfortunately my Aunt with alzheimers has passed away and I have to help my uncle with the necessary arrangements. I will be looking in but not likely to have much to post.
