Certainly not placi. There is a film on you tube about a bloke with one. Is years old now, the film that is. Last an hour. Will see if I can find it again and put a link up. I only watched a couple of minutes of it with it hunting a rabbit and catching. But I suspect it is a good film.

I thought the Turnstones were the stars of last night's Winterwatch. I didn't know they were so resourceful when searching for food.

Loved it, loved it !! Super commentary and, surprise !!, book was written by T H White who wrote one of my favourite books.
This was, I think, much better than "H is for Hawk".

Had a bad cold all week so I've only just caught up with Winterwatch.

Very good. Amazing camera work as always.

I've criticised Gillian in the past but I think this was by far her best series. Far less hesitant and forgetful in her lines and didn't seem to rely on her cue cards quite so much. Iolo was his usual excellent self.

The blue tit box had 3 eggs in it last night!

5 or maybe 6 eggs in there now.

They usually lay about 8-10 so it may be a little while before incubation commences.

The mum seems to cover them over with feathers during the day while she's out and about and then in the evening comes back and does a lot of rummaging underneath and then sleeps on them over night.
