Re: chit chat
I still can't get my head around this surreal encounter .....
went to the Post Office this morning. A lad of, say, 18, was standing in front of the postbox; I went round him to reach the slot and he was holding, I presume, a Christmas card envelope in one hand and a single stamp in the other. He said, quite politely, "'Scuse me, can you tell me where this (the stamp) goes?". I truly didn't understand the question and he motioned the stamp towards the top corner of the envelope, "Does it go there?". I told him that that was correct, he said "Thank you" and I fled the scene
.
Some of 'em shouldn't be out on their own.

That's your yoof of today. They'd run rings around us on snapchat and instagram or anything digital but get them back to actually writing on something and posting it they're at a loss. Thank goodness you were there to demonstrate how to post the said item of mail as goodness knows where it may have ended up.Placido wrote:I still can't get my head around this surreal encounter .....

Re: chit chat
Very interesting, Placi
They probably don't receive many envelopes with an actual adhesive stamp on.
I understand people don't send cards so much now. Wonder who it was for
