On R4 last night there was a sort of flyer for Wimbles. It was a list of comparisons between the rest of the world's tennis and Wimbledon along the lines of ...

It's not a headlong rush, it's a mile-long orderly queue

and ended with:
It's not played on clay, it's performed on grass
It's not tennis .... it's Wimbledon

The clay/grass thing was quite good, I thought :).

Tennis at Wimbledon is different to tennis anywhere else. I like the fact that they have a dress code for the players. They look like proper sportsmen/women and not like people who've just rocked up from the beach or in the worst cases just got out of bed. :nod:

I heard this again last night and I had the 'performed on grass' wrong. The actual wording was, 'Performed on a lawn' which is much better :)

Yes, they played just croquet first, didn't they, before all this tennis malarkey.
