One taken up there yesterday, not quite sure of the ID although I probably should know.

Lovely photo Bob, perhaps it is a Juvenile Stone.

I was thinking it looked like a stonechat but couldn't find a similar one on google for a young one to compare.

Ta. I think it just looks a little different colour and the chest whiter on mine rather than a cream/yellow tinge. Probably just me

A stonechat and wren up in the Peaks this morning. I was hoping for mountain hares but they evaded me. Still, it was fun trying to guess which hole in the dry stone wall the wren would pop out of next... kept me on my toes for a photograph or three for a good while.

I absolutely love these cute smaller birds which are a wonder of physical miniturization in nature!
PS: I sure hope your Pipett can scratch that tick away with his foot or that he or she has a loving mate to do it.

They are great to watch although quite nippy in general. Speaking of small, I spent a good while today with a goldcrest, which I love, only to come out with blurry photos. Still, I enjoyed it which is the main thing.

A bit cloudy but up in the Peaks the weather is up and down. Still a nice few hours spent ending up with an ice cream at Hathersage (where Little Johns grave is supposedly) waiting for the train home
