Bad news Placi. It always grabs me as being particularly grim at this time of year as the victim very likely has youngsters who will not now get fed so there is a knock on effect. Of course the Sprawk probably has dependents too but the war seems one-sided.

All back to normal this morning. Usual disorderly queue. Sprawk struck elsewhere I imagine

I have not seen a Sprawk in my garden since some time in January and today was no different but I did find the pitiful circle of feathers which normaly advertises a visit. One less sparrow to feed.

Watched this from beginning to end today - sprawk went into pyracantha, emerged with a blackbird and just stopped on the lawn and proceeded to have lunch.
Suddenly flew off and I thought I had disturbed it but then came the reason: one of cats from across the road. Just had to photograph the residue

Actually went outside to take this to see how close I could get because they will allow it if they're in the mood. This was from about 7 ft in full view. Tried to get closer but it had had enough and flew off.
