My neighbour has a small Ash tree and the leaves look very much like the tree in your photo.j0nh22 wrote:Not unusual here Placido, the nearest I got with tree id is Ash, but open to offers lol. maybe when it stops raining I may go down the field for a better look and a sample.

Yesyesyes, Ash. I was trying to make it into a very large rowan, the leaves are similar (I've been caught like that before
).
Re: WHAT I SAW TODAY.....
This morning whilst in the garden I heard all this really loud important flapping - I saw eight wood pigeons land in a tall tree outside the garden (the one next to the conker tree) then straightaway ten flew out of the tree and away. I can't recall ever seeing that many at the same time.
A bit later the sturks came in - sounded like curtains being drawn

A jay came for early brekkies
. Ate up all the mealies and then left without so much as .......
Watched it for about 30 seconds which is 10 times longer than any jay I've seen previously. Good beginning
