Does any one have any ideas about Lavender if it falls fowl to Frost ,I bought dozens last year from Lidl and they did well but they have now turned all black they are very sad looking.

Re: WHAT'S GROWING IN YOUR GARDEN ??
Dozens ?!?!?
Black leaves can surely point to frost damage unless the ground is waterlogged, Greenfinch, in which case they might be drowndead (I made that word up as well
).
Have you pulled one up and checked the roots ??

Hi greenfinch. I believe lavender likes near enough full sun and well drained soil. Like placi points out they could have got wet feet. I think it is hardy enough to withstand frost.

A wee bit of advice required please. I popped into Lidl today and they were selling Agapanthus Africanus roots cheaply. What I need to know is when is the best time to plant it. I can find out nearly everything else I want to know like where it can be planted but not when
I am thinking it is now and if no-one knows the definitive answer that what I'll do.

In spring, Jacksparrow. Plant the crown 2" deep and in full sun (don't like shade).
RHS gives full details.
