No Brimstones spotted yet but 2 spiralling dark butterflies outside my daughters today - I think peacocks but couldn't get a good look as was nap trapped by new grandchild

Ohh, I bet that was a hardship Cin, nap-trapped lol
My grand total of butterfly pics this year is 2 peacocks, all the Brimstones have been flying, and mostly whilst I've been driving too

Is it too early for your wood and cryptic wood whites? They were Shropshire, weren't they?

Too early - wouldn't expect them until May

Gosh and I were on Prees Heath on Tuesday - no butterflies but the bird song was fabulous and there were quite a few with beaks of nesting material.

Good spot PB, did manage to get a video of a peacock yesterday. Not a good pose, but will keep it for now, and see if I can get a better clip.
