Bird Info

Post by johnd83 »

Good evening all,

Just wondering if there are any good sites with give bird data. I am still very much a wildlife rookie but I am very keen of getting more into it making it more of a hobby. This is not just birds I want to get into plants ext.

Any advice for a novice.

I was going to say check out the RSPB Bird Guide, and the RHS Plantfinder is good

I strongly recommend getting a copy of the Colllins Bird Guide. It covers all the birds you are likely to see in the UK and then some.

Yes I have the Collins also. But there is a pocket version Collins Gem, Garden Birds. 100 garden and town birds. Very useful to take around. Plus for the geeks out there, can get the RSPB apps for smart phones. There is one for butterflies also. Have to buy them I believe.
