Not getting a lot at the moment.

I have gone from a couple of fledglings to what seems like dozens in the space of 24 hours. They have been making an awful din while keeping me busy topping up the bird bath.

Same again today. No peaceful Sunday for me.

I noticed more this morning when I went out with the first feed.

A little more peaceful today. They made an early appearance when I put out the sultanas on the bird table but drifted away soon after that.

Seemed a bit on the quiet side here. Mind you did cut the grass earlier.

I'm getting the feeling the Starlings have had a good year for nesting and fledging youngsters. I have been getting plenty of them most days.

Am getting gangs of them now, used to be a peaceful garden.

Talking if starlings, they devoured a whole jar of peanut butter for birds today.

Starlings are awesome aren't they? We name all ours as they live in the roof - one year, a parent was shouting like mad because a pre-fledgling was running up and down the guttering. This one turned out to be a right daredevil and acrobat, he gets in the feeders which only sparrows can, he's called Eddie, (after Eddie Kidd if you're old enough to remember him;)
The first new chick each year seems to get the gene of courage and gymnastic ability, and with the 4 blackbirds, I get through at least half a jam jar of soaked raisins a day.
I do love seeing 6 of them somehow fit in a standard bird bath.
