Sadly chaffinch have become only occasional visitors to my garden in recent years. :(

The Chaffinch has a Scandinavian cousin called a Brambling. The Brambling is mainly a winter visitor to the UK but it likes to mingle with the resident Chaffinch. The BTO have a produced a helpful short video to aid identification between the two species.
