Yep, I think so too. Swifts never sit on the telephone wires and only stop flying to enter and leave their nests.

Maybe they were copying the swallows, thinking, "We could do that - zoom around the gardens swooping round in circles and then rest on the telephone wires - looks a right bit of fun ... we've absolutely had it with all this non-stop flying, grandly sweeping through the heavens like God Almighty on a broomstick." :nod:

I am delighted to say my local Swifts have returned once again for their summer sojourn :) . They didn't pick the best of weather but came anyway.

I have never seen any yet ,but i did see lots of swallows down at the river.

I am the proud owner of a house martin nest. If I look up out the window from my desk, there's a bit of an overhang and I have I think I've established) a house martin nest. I've seen her swooping up a few times, and can see the nest. If there's babies, I'll have a fab view. Work, what work :D :) :D
