NEWTS
I was trawling the nature pond yesterday to remove Duck Weed and accidently caught two Smooth Newts. They seemed a bit lethargic which isn't surprising as the pond water is still very cold.

Re: NEWTS
First sighting of a newt this spring today. They always appear when the young Tadders strike out on their own.

Re: NEWTS
The pondwater has only recently reached a temperature which make them active. I have seen a reduction in numbers over the last few years so I expect they are becoming harder to spot when they do appear.Placido wrote: Sat Apr 20, 2019 8:29 am Why are they late this year?? Glad they're out and about anyway.
