The adult birds are still lurking in garden but I have not seen any of the fledglings. There are plenty of places in my jungle for them to hide so I'm not too concerned.
Anyone require some used Romper suits?

Sad to report I found a dead Robinette below my kitchen window today. I'm supposing a window strike.

It's Official. Winter began toady !!
Whilst idly slicing runner beans (run 'em through a haggi's teeth) I suddenly became excitedly aware that I could hear a robin carolling .......
Being conditioned like Pavlov's dogs, I stepped outside with suet pellets etc., and gave my usual robin whistle. I was immediately answered loudly and at some length from the silver birch. The duet continued until he became bored.
Short autumn, wasn't it ??

That short I fear I may have missed it entirely. Perhaps I was abed
My own local caroller was out of the blocks even sooner than yours. Two weeks ago he started but only on a part time basis as some days he doesn't bother.

Yes, I think Bobbin will hang around for tasties on a part-time basis too. Some days you do and some days you don't ..... .
Miracle he came at all 'cos I've never seen such an autumn for hawthorn berries.
