I read that They are considering employing eagles to bring down drones.
Seems that drones are becoming more and more of a menace to aircraft as regards the proximity to airfields and the height to which some can go.
Drones are quite available to anyone so they are a rapidly growing menace. Price of modernity, I s'pose.

The danger is quite appreciated but just think of the fun . Let's have a whip-round and buy a Forum Drone (our very own Dronum ).

Placi, you've for a long time now and quite rightly in my opinion, held the title of "Queen of the Forum(Barmy section)". There have been in times past the odd challenge looking to dethrone you but you have seen them all off with great aplomb. I am delighted to say that your latest suggestion for the ideas department is well down amongst the barmiest if not THE barmiest. Your constant level of barmyism should not pass unrecognised so the dubious honour has fallen to myself(I drew the short straw) to award you the title of "Queen Barmy of GWUK" to be held in perpetuity. Unfortunately the post does not attract any king of financial reward but you can now add QBGWUK after your name on any correspondence.
In answer to your suggestion NO. I'm not supplying Eagle food out of my meagre pension.

No, no, notatall. I really thought that you hadn't heard of the Dutch eagles being trained to catch drones and Britain (forget who) had a look with a view to acquiring our own eagly-type drone-bashers because of the airfield danger. It's truuuuuuue.
I'm sure I saw a vid somewhere showing an eagle bringing down a drone but some people were bothered that the whirly bits might injure the eagles' legs.
I mean, if ordinary birds can bring down an aircraft then a drone might very well do so too. They're being sold by the bushel-load in the USA.

Seen it on the news Placi a couple of weeks ago. Eagle bringing drone. BBc use them but they have a trained person to use them. Have seen some great video taken by drones. But as always the few Doing stupid things with them.

I was well aware of Drones and the activities of some of idiots who acquire them but the idea of getting Eagles to attack them sounded too far fetched to be true. I'm only a simple country soul

I got to thinking about this later and seems to me it would be very very simple for a nutter to render the whirly bits of a drone extremely dangerous for an incoming eagle. Doesn't bear thinking about really .

The other airport problem now is laser beams. What's the matter with people ?!?!?!?!
