Whitecross Green Wood

I found a new (small) nature reserve not far from one of the other woods I walk around.
It's called Whitecross Green Wood and is basically a long woodland area with a wide grassy track down the centre and a couple of side routes too.
I had a walk around the entrance end today. Lots of butterflies and other insects and a good number of dragonflies. They're applying for permission to make a new pond there too which will be good. They've got some rock piles out in the middle, presumably to tempt basking reptiles, but I didn't see any unfortunately. Just a couple of basking hares!!
Looking forward to another trip back there to explore more.
In the mean time, pics here and a couple of samples.
