After the undoubted success of the walk to the hide, in part 2 you'll just have to imagine the joy of 2 more lifers, plus a further 3 firsts for the year... and a delicious Sausage in crusty roll!

Ibis and spotted redshank, you definitely had a great day PB. I haven't seen any of your lifers yet. When I went to Ham Wall late last year, wasn't much about and the hides were shut.

Wasn't there a film called the "Colour Purple"? Firstly Heron and then Ibis you're spoiling us now PB. Spots before my eyes and every shade of Egret it'll be a while before you have another day like this.

I think I've been a bit lucky both times I've been there this year, but I did check out recent sightings before I went, and if nothing had been seen we probably would have headed elsewhere.

Absolutely, Jack. We took a bit of a chance with the forecast, but it paid dividends, and you're right about having another day like that! (Time to book Galapagos I reckon :D )

Thanks Linda, I quite often see reports of Spotted Redshank around and about my usual haunts, but have never been lucky! It's been 8 lifers this year...... so far :)
