Ferrybridge 19/07/2026 (part 1)

Forecast was good, not too hot, but a hint of cloud through the morning, and I decided that I hadn't used the big lens for a while, so it was going to be a birdy day. Checking tide times Ferrybridge seemed ideal, low tide at 3am and high tide at 11... 7 seemed to be a good time to aim for!
Unfortunately a lot of the birds stayed pretty distant, but a few were more confiding... or nosey!

Nice to see the ruff and great photo's of the redshank flypast PB. Good to spot the plover and dunlin as well.

Pity the little tern was so distant but least you managed a clear shot. Always happy to see a Redshank, therse one kicking aboot the Haugh but always so distant....these birds are just so selfish getting!!! Lots of nice pics PB...thanks for sharing. Will be back for part 2 tonight

Thanks Jack, I knew one had been spotted there a couple of days previously, but didn't realise it was so well rouged, or still there

Thanks Snappy, shame it had to be such a heavy crop of the Ruff, but beggars can't be choosers
The Dunlin were the most numerous bird, I reckon, and the Plover on the shingle I could hardly miss, proper curious, and squeaking a lot too!

Thanks Linda, the Redshank were a real surprise, didn't see them at all 'til it was nearly too late. The Little Terns were just being annoying, but I noticed in the background of one of the shots some walkers the other side of the lagoon, difficult to tell, but the Terns may have been closer to that side. I may find out tomorrow
