Well this has been over a year that I have been on this mission to find the pesky bearded tits/reedlings (whichever you prefer)

1st went to Leighton moss last June in search of them with no luck...was a bit of a blow as its over 5hrs round trip!....then it was up to Tay Reedbeds in Erroll last September a think.....not so far from home but no luck there either so yesterday with it being bank Holiday weekend I decided Leighton Moss was worth another trip and the weather looked decent for spotting them.

We arrived just before 10 and the carpark was already pretty busy as it was a sunny day but I wasn't othered too much as its a large reserve and I had only one thing on my mind them beardies

1st up was the tower over the reeds....aye right good luck spotting anythingin there Linda!! :haha:

Went into a couple of hides as was passing anyhow but was pretty dead....unless you like COOTS!

Walked past the grit trays for the beardies....oh wow..bloody imposter

Into another hide...nowt again..
Came back out to the grit trays and JACKPOT!!!!!

OVERDOSED ON THEM A TAD :photo:

And here's a few of what else I saw...not that a was too fussed about seeing anything else but a Bittern would have been nice

Thanks for trawling through...hope you enjoyed :D

This is really wonderfull Linda! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Tits are my favorite birds and I'm in the process of 'ruining my eyes' reading a very complicated, 808 page ornithology book about all Tits possible. The Beardies are also supposed to be here in my region but in 33 years I've never seen one; at least not yet! I'll keep looking! 😁
