So warm and still, and accounts of lots of stuff just up the road, led me to a return to Alner's Gorse, with an aperitif in the garden, as well as a dessert liqueur

Well, it seemed to miss a few....

That's an impressive selection of butterflies PB . A few I have not yet seen this year. Although I did find my first White-letter Hairstreak ever yesterday

I consider myself well and truly pissed off

Given the weather I would go early second gen Brimstone - keep you eyes open for interesting aberrations that might start turning up as it would appear that high temperatures can have an effect

I'll have to go back, because there are brown hairstreaks on the wing, and being snapped daily at the mo, and I've never seen one.

I'm just lucky to live near a couple of area's under Dorset Butterflies control, Jack, so they are managed for the butterflies, and about 15 minutes the other way is chalk downland for a variety of blues.... postcode lottery I think they call it
