A new one for me in the garden. An Essex Skipper (I hope). Today seems to have brought out all the common butterflies. We have plenty of Peacock, Red Admiral, Tortoiseshell, Painted lady and both large and small white butterflies.

Caring is sharing!! Today looks to be a great butterfly day for me at home. So far Peacock, Red Admiral, Painted lady, Tortoise shell, White, Comma, Gatekeeper and Meadow Brown butterflies so far. loads of bees too. Will try my R7 in video mode and see what happens. If I get anything I will post on YouTube.

Fab shot Ed. This year is the best our garden's been for butterflies, not close to as many as you, but improving year on year

Hang on in there!! I think this is a Brown-banded Carder bee (Bombus humilis).

Managed to snap a head on shot of a Common Carder bee enjoying the White Lavender in the garden.

Good stuff Ed... if you weren't using macro kit, I'm not sure that you need to invest in it!! Fabulous detail zooming in on the pics
