I was off in the car quite early yesterday morning and stopped at the end of my road to post a letter (I still send 'em

) in the postbox on the opposite side of the road.
A young man walking his dogs came over to the car, I just looked at him through the window. He gestured and I let the window down a little.
"I'll post that for you - save you getting out of the car".
So I gave him the envelope, he posted it, waved and went on his way.
I'm still thinking about it .....

He never gets the chance to post a proper letter in a street postbox and this was a huge novelty for him and a wonderful opportunity.
He probably went home and crossed it off his bucket list

It's odd how a little random kindness takes us by surprise. A sign of the times I suppose.

Radio 4's 'Toady' prog, 6 times a week, is a very healthful early morning option: raises the blood pressure, exercises the vocal chords and tones the muscles

, and teaches stuff to the listening millions ......
Toady (!

) we learned a new word - efficacity

. I'm sure I wasn't the only one to have googled this gem as soon as time was found, and lo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it's true, it's a word. Whether it will now replace the underused noun, efficacy, they didn't say, nor ask, but, hey, it's an option and that's all good.
We were also given a new percentage to toss around at cocktail parties and dinners in Islington and Notting Hill - 87% of what we see is visual.
Now tell the truth, you must be as astounded as wot I was - I'd no idea that the percentage of the visuality of wot we see is so high.
Don't ask about the remaining 13%; again, they didn't say, nor ask.
Roll on, tomorrow's workout but Toady toady was a double-barrelled gem.
