It's a wider thing than just Winterwatch, isn't it ? The BBC has lost its way altogether, trying to be all things to all persons and ending up pleasing none.

I think you are right placi. But as you say this is now the bbc all over. Last night not only climate stuff, but mental health as well. I am sure those that have those problems, it cat be very nice, me, I get mental when the blinkin weather stops me going out with my video cam.
But it was a tad better last night with the geese, and those orcas must be a sight to behold.

I'm only half watching.

I was pleased for the young girl who wanted to see the orcas for her mental health therapy but not sure it fitted in that sort of show.

Ultimately, not a lot happens in winter. They don't have much they can show. I think they should just do springwatch and leave it at that. I wonder if they might try another country for next years winterwatch as they did with the autumn one a year or two ago. Might be a bit more going on in Canada for instance..... but then it's not OUR nature.

It was better last night. I do like the tree creeper. But it either needs to be rested, or a rethink on where they are heading.

Going to Wales for the next series. Should be nice. Some swallows not migrating, they will have a head start this year.

I think the location has become more and more irrelevant. Although we do get some local content very much more is culled from other parts of the country and not all of it relevant to the time of year.
I'm with willpar and think it is overdue for a rest or just returning to it being Springwatch and not trying to spread a little very far.

Springwatch 2020 is still going ahead, though not as was planned.

I think this is working pretty well actually given the limitations they have. Some of the things Chris Packham was saying in the first episode about getting out in to nature being good for mental health really resonated with me. I like the calm and fascination of watching nature go about its daily business and an antidote to normal life.

Must say Kev I never knew what to expect. But like you said under the circumstances it is working out quite well. But one thing that did come over well with me was Chris Packham`s step daughter. Good delivery no nerves and knew what she was talking about. She could well have a good future ahead of her.

Perhaps a change is as good as a rest. I have not missed Michaela Strachan's input. They have been very lucky with the weather being very agreeable making the outside broadcast a treat from the different locations. I agree with willpar's assessment of CP's stepdaughter. I suspect we have not seen the last of her.
