Found a few Peacock Butterfly caterpillars feasting on some stinging nettles in the garden this afternoon. We allow the nettles to grow from under our hedge. There must have been a good 20+ found this afternoon. Well chuffed.

Every year I let a patch of nettles grow for the benefit of caterpillars. Every year they or rather their parents ignore them.

Narcissus Bulb Fly - Merodon Equestris. They are currently harvesting Daffodil bulbs in the field next to the house. Maybe that is why we have a few on the Aster flowers.
