A couple of chubby robins on yesterdays walk. One braving the moorland elements and one in woodland. Both were paired up with partners which seems to be the case for a lot at the moment.

I have been slow to notice but I'm sure there is a Robin's nest about 4 feet away from the site of the blackbirds. Both parents have been vey active all day bringing goodies to the nestlings. I am convinced some are ready to fledge.

The parent birds worked for about an hour taking it in turns trying to tempt the nestlings out into the nearby plum tree. I did not see any fledge.
