My old uncle can trump that. He has an old fridge/freezer he thinks it 20 years old but it's probably older and he keeps getting cold calls from people wanting to flog him extended warranty for it. At the age of 92 he thinks the appliance will never need replacing in his lifetime. :)

I get my new washing machine next Tuesday. Comes with a two year warranty. The warranty they tried to sell me was £7 45 a month for as long as i have the machine. With two years warranty that means i give them nearly two hundred quid for what?

I get all types of rubbish stashed in the ivy on my front wall. Sometimes I don't find it until I trim the ivy in the autumn. :shake:

The lovely hotel that i go past on my walks with the large pond has new owners. A design company from London has bought it. Closed at the moment for refurbishment. But the path that goes by it has been closed. A notice has been put up saying private property and the path is now closed to walkers and horses. Can roughly tell by the tone of the notice that it probably wont be open to walkers from now on.

Does that indicate it was not a public footpath and just Permitted Access?

Yes that is right JS. there are other routes i can go, one is through the fields that i used to walk. So no big deal. I just liked seeing the ducks and a heron if i was lucky. Plus the dipping swallows in the summer.

My telephone has gone digital this morning. Just had to unplug it from the wall outlet, and then plug it into the back of the home hub.

I have a German 1970's telephone, in the then popular avacado colour. It's also plugged into the back of my WLAN router.

Its an 'impulse dial' phone with no 'DTMF Touch Tone' at all. For example: If you dial a 2 you hear 'Clacks! Clacks!' And if you dial a three you hear 'Clacks! Clacks! Clacks! And if I have a talking computor or robot on the end of the line saying: "For Accounting please dial a two!" Then I have to hold my Siemens DTMF peepser to the hand set and push a good hard, long 'Twooo!' Haha!

I was trained as a Broadcast Engineer, was also an Amateur Radio Operator with a love for CW Code, build all of my own model railway electronics, worked for a medical euipment manufacturer calibrating and repairing ECG units but I have always had respect and a love for older equipment. 😄📻
