Took the morning off to go see if I could take a few snaps of two valley barn owls. Sadly it was very quiet on the wildlife front apart from this one who popped out to have a munch near me.

Very good Bob. For some reason I didn't expect this year's leverets to be so mature yet.
I think they can give birth quite early in the year JS. Usually though in the local valley they start making a more obvious appearance from June onwards. Well, from what I've seen... I'm no expert.
Not the closest or sharpest image but kind of interesting. A hare scent marking yesterday by rubbing its chin on a rock in a field. I've seen them do this a few times using the same rock. Apparently they also pee on their feet and kick it out to cover a larger area. As someone who does like to get close to them I prefer the chin rubbing method
