IS THIS A JOKE ??
Re: IS THIS A JOKE ??
My darling wife from Lithuania informed me that those hailing from her land never use profanity. Indeed?
Consequently, as a test, I permitted her to draw the dining room blinds that evening!

The Ring-Neck Chiffchaff
by Charles B.
A blether in the reedbeds — folk greetin’ at a wee tweet,
“A ring-neck chiffchaff!” — a proper palaver, a right old bleat.
Mrs Pippin chucked her bonnet, the butcher fashed wi’ a blade,
The vicar went, “Och aye, nae harm,” and prayed for sense tae be made.
Two calm birders — Finch an’ Wren — sippit tea richt peaceful-like,
“Mind the ring,” they doonright muttered, “an’ listen tae that cheery strike.”
They fettled wi’ their lenses, logged the notes, then tipped their caps awa’,
Set the wee beast free tae flit, an’ that was a belter o’ a law.
The mob skelpit hame, auld-faced an’ sair putten doon wi’ shame,
Finch an’ Wren shared biscuits, smug as bairns that’d won the game.
A quiet cuppa, a quiet grin — nae bother, just a guid day’s claim,
An’ the chiffchaff warbled aff into the gloamin’ — aw, pure dead chuffed and tame.

Re: IS THIS A JOKE ??
We've never seen fit to have a poetry topic until now. I wait and see if there are any other budding Burns or Tennysons lurking out there before I start one.

'The Bramble Berries' by Alexander Mackenzie is my favorite poem in scottisch dialect.

It's of course now public domain. But it's best to post the poems I write myself.
