Well,what do you think of it so far?
The new lady looked a little like a rabbit in the headlights on Monday night even with Chris there to hold her hand but was considerably more animated last night. Judgement reserved.
I detect a certain change of emphasis. All the usual nests are there to keep us enthralled but I sense we are to be dragged hither and thither looking at the big picture of the effects of farming activities on the environment and wildlife. They might be treading on Countryfile's toes a little but we shall see.

I'm enjoying it so far.

Yes the new lady seemed a bit nervous on the first couple of shows but it's live TV with someone talking in your ear giving you direction and countdowns to clips so it takes a bit of time to get right. From her previous items on other series she's been very good though. She'll be ok next series I think.

They seem to be covering rather a lot of nests. Maybe too many (8 off the top of my head?) but I guess they have to cover their options if any are not successful. I'm enjoying having the blue tit camera in the corner of my computer at work though They're fun to watch although I would love to take a bag of caterpillars for the runty one as he/she always seems to miss out when a juice meal comes in but as the others fledge his/her chances of getting food will go up. I just hope they don't forget about him/her!

I guess the Countryfile comparison is fair. They did say they were trying something a little bit different this time and I suppose they'll act on the feedback as to whether people liked it. I'd prefer to see them go round to different nature reserves each time rather than stay largely in one place so this is a nice change. It's certainly given them a lot of habitat scope.

Eight out of nine is not a bad return on the parent's efforts. It is why they have so many eggs in a clutch in the first place as they expect some mortality .
