Just had a power cut - when it came back on there was a message on the home phone from the power company apologising for the power being off and saying it would be restored in five minutes

My internet and land line have packed up. It's like living in the dark ages!!! My only net access is 3G on my phone which isn't ideal. They tell me it'll be fixed some time before 5pm Wednesday!!

Just seen your post nuthatch. Have not seen a single mince pie in the shops yet. And as you know I am quite partial to the odd half dozen. With a splodge of Devonshire clotted cream.

They've had them in my local Tesco for about a month. I have not been tempted thus far.

Still waiting to see a Mince Pie ,OH like them but Im not very fond of them, I can hardly believe the dark nights come back next week I dont think Im ready for that we had a lovely July and the rest has been very mixed ,the whole summer has been very quiet bird wise .we had a Crows nest beside the back door and a seagulls nest across the road behind a chimney so I dont no if that had anything to do with the lack of young birds at the garden both birds were dirty ,noisy things no love towards them at all,the Sparrows are back and now a few Dunnock, somewhere in the leaves I have a wren, and a singing Robin.
