Oh they sure are Kevin, I only see them on grass verge by side of road when am driving. But a do remember last year or year before one turned up in my garden....glad it never stuck around or ma plants would be no more
I'm now thinking they might be young Stonechat? Anyone?scozmos wrote: Thu Jun 19, 2025 4:27 pm Been a good day, on the patch and out and about. I set off for one of my reservoir walks this morning, drove down the lane and at the bottom I spotted a small flock of birds keeping ahead but landing often so, I stopped and grabbed a few shots.
Came back from the walk and uploaded the photos to find I'd got a Spotted Flycatcher and youngsters, I think. the youngster shot was through the car windscreen but I think it is a young SF!!! Woop woopphotos to follow

Merlin thinks Stonechat and that would be my guess. Nice photo.
Thanks Snappy, I tended to think so too, there were around 5 of them and I think its too early for SF??
I only saw SF for the first time last year, none yet this year.scozmos wrote: Sat Jun 21, 2025 8:33 am Thanks Snappy, I tended to think so too, there were around 5 of them and I think its too early for SF??
