The female Petty Officer has attracted a fair amount of comment for one reason or another. I thought she sounded as if she was losing her cool at times which is a big mistake as the blighters start messing up on purpose to see how far you can be pushed. Awkward Squad it was known as and jolly good fun.

It is relatively speaking not that old or traditional. It was written by two Scottish folk singers in the 1960s. Having said that it is a good tune with catchy lyrics.
The "proud Edward" referred to isn't, as is often thought, Edward I (the Hammer of The Scots - Malleus Scotorum) but his useless son, Edward II to whom a righteous bashing was administered at The Glorious Bakkle of Bannockburn which was fought on the fields of Twickenham.

I liked the Corries, I have been looking at my old photos for this time last year and nest building had started I have had no takers so far this year the nesting material is up and waiting .
Last year's baby jackdaws are going to cost me £300
They made a nest in the chimney and it seems that nest has now dropped down the chimney and our gas fire won't work.
So they will have to take the fire out and the backing, take the chimney pot off and sweep the chimney out.
It doesn't help that our central heating doesn't like to work much, either.
