Did everyone in the whole world know about this except me ??
I learned last night that putting a week's supply of mushrooms out in the direct sun for an hour makes them absorb Vitamin D and that stays within said fungi even after cooking and being left in the 'fridge.
I've googled it today and it's TRUE  :wow:.

Thing is, Vit D is hard to come by; we need it ever so badly and the best source is from sunshine.
It is necessary to trigger the absorption of calcium which as everyone knows is the essential component of strong bones.
What a simple way of acquiring it !! Might be a bit of a prob from Nov - April though ....... :(

I've never heard that either. I have heard that actually being out in the sun a person absorbs Vitamin D so I rely on that to keep my levels up.

The skin doesn't absorb Vitamin D but sunlight spurs the body to make it.

Well well, doncha just live and learn !!!
Yep, it's the ultra-violet (Google says so so it must be true  ) but it apparently does also work with mushrooms.

Gawd, doncha just wish that some 'expert' not driven by sales would just tell us stuff like this. I always knew that mint was able to assist digestion, but never knew until very recently that ginger and cinnamon have the same abilities. Also shocked to find out that Dandelion is better for our skin that most expensive skin lotions. I mean, who'd pay a fortune when the solution is regarded by many as a weed (otherwise known as a native plant). :)

Just learned a new word. The analysts who study the figures are called Psephologists
Make a note of it, you'll need it again in 5 years time :(

It's a beautiful word, isn't it ?!?!? Psephos psephos psephos ..... luuurve it.

Someone on TV just 'tother night mentioned this - it had to be invented because the science of pointlessly reading the voting runes has only quite recently sprung into being and "psephos" was chosen as the root because ancient Greece sort of invented a form of limited Democracy (Demos = The People, Kratia = Power).

Just to say though, it may be the case that Psephology is dragged into the limelight again long before 5 years time - maybe November ??? We may know by tomorrow ..... :goodevil:

Fascinating times

I'm not sure I could bear another month of the waffle we've had aimed at us over the last 6 weeks. I stopped listening about 5 1/2 weeks ago :(
Which ever way it goes I just hope it is decisive. :old:
