Disabled starling

I managed to take a video of a disabled starling in my garden, collecting food for her babies . She is so brave

Seems to be managing ok but I wonder if it's had a close call with a kitty cat!

Yes, its doing fine so far , but it must be so hard for any bird, and specially a starling given how chaotic and energetic they are, to have a disability. She has to put in extra effort to do things that others do with ease, bless her . I don't know if her injury was caused by an encounter with a cat or maybe she got her leg caught in something . It looks dislocated

Perching birds feet and legs are very vulnerable to damage. It looks as though the Starling is coping very well. I'm pleased to see the others were not taking advantage.

I was worried about that too Jack, when I first saw her at the beginning of the year, that she would be rejected, or worse. Or that she couldn't keep the pace with the rest of the group. But they seem to be ok with her disability and treat her nicely, so that's a relief. I find her amazing .
