Does the Dean's daughter figure in this somewhere along the line or are we just waiting for the shaggy dog to enter stage left ??

Dean's daughter is a story best left untold. Who told you about the shaggy dog(s)? Spoiler alert!!!!!!!

......"this what I think it is?" "Depends what you think it is" said Andy trying to disguise his complete bafflement. " I was hoping you could fill in the blanks for me Mick" said Andy hopefully "what with your legal training and all"
Mick shuffled uneasily in his chair and said "I've spent the last twenty years trying to forget that but I do know that the documents are the deeds to a property and you are the beneficiary" ."What relation to you is this Herbie Vooers?" Mick enquired.
Andy had hoped for clarity but all he had were more questions to answer. "I've no idea, could it be a scam like the Nigerian Prince thing where they empty your bank account or is plain mistaken identity?
"For what it's worth I think the documents are real and the best course of action is to ring the solicitors and see if they'll tell you more over the phone. Oh! and have you opened the other packet yet?" "Eh? What other packet?" "It says here in the covering letter that you will have delivered a separate package by courier. "Nope, I've had no package" said Andy having completely overlooked the card on the mat by the front door on his way out to meet Mick.
Andy usually dallied in the pub for a couple of hours but today his heart wasn't in it. He asked Mick to try and help unravel the mystery and they made their way back to his house. But yet another surprise was waiting for him when..............

.............he and Mike arrived back at the house. Parked outside in the road was a very smart Mercedes saloon with two people sat in the back. As Andy reached the gate one of the doors opened and out stepped his mother. To say Andy was shocked was to put it mildly as he was under the misapprehension that she was twelve thousand miles away in New Zealand. Andy gave her a big hug while searching for the right words to express his joy at seeing her after ten years. At this point Mick Snuts realised that for the time being he was surplus to requirements so made his excuses and left the mother and son to catch up. There were, of course, two people in the car other than the chauffeur and Andy's mum gestured for him to step out and join them.
Andy's father had been killed in a road crash some eleven years ago but his mum had remarried an investment banker who she had met on a Caribbean cruise some six months later. Because Peke Le'Donion(for it is he) worked for a merchant bank in it's overseas department he and Andy never got to meet either before the nuptials nor after when the newly weds had gone off to New Zealand. Although Peke had a foreign sounding name he was British through and through as his mother had insisted that Great Britain was a happier place to live than his father's French village in post war Europe.
Andy shook his hand and exchanged niceties but there was no warmth as they were in affect total strangers even though they were Stepfather and Stepson.Andy invited them into the house as he had a thousand questions not least those that arisen in the last six hours.
When they had all settled in the lounge Andy's mum said almost in almost a whisper,"son I've' something to tell you............. "

................"you can say that again" said Andy with a laugh in his voice. "I don't see you for ten years and then you suddenly appear without any notice"
But Andy had failed to catch the mood in his Mum's voice so she stopped for a few seconds to gain her composure. What she didn't know was what had been happening to Andy since just after breakfast that morning nor what he had in the carrier bag he'd been carrying when he returned home from the pub. She had not seen the email Andy had sent that very day so thought she had to build up some background for the bombshell that was to follow. After a few seconds she started again. She explained that many years ago before Andy was born and she was courting his dad she went on a summer holiday with her parents to the bulb fields in eastern England. During that sojourn she had met a handsome young Dutchman and one thing led to another and a very good time was had by both of them for the duration of the stay. They had exchanged addresses so she could write to him when she returned home but what she hadn't realised when they parted that is that they would never meet again and that she was pregnant with his child. When she did find out she tried to contact Herbie(for it his he) but received no reply. Andy sat and listened in stunned silence to what his mum was relating. Was it true? The man who he called Dad all those years was,in fact, not his Dad but some Dutch man who hadn't had the nerve to reply when told he was to become a father. His Mum continued the tale of how despite knowing that the pregnancy was not of his doing the man Andy thought was his father married her and insisted on bringing up Andy as his own. After giving a little while for this to sink in Andy's mum continued....................
