Yay, that is good news :clap:. Meggle to the first pic :photo: :trophy: (I KNOW it's a cup, you have to imagine .....).

I read the para about the (non-)extinct spider and got it completely wrong :rolleyes:. My initial thought was that it had dropped into and drowned in a water bath on a bird table :cry3: :shrug:

The last Painted Lady invasion was in 2009. I went to Bude for a weeks holiday and they were absolutely everywhere. I think we may have to wait for a friendly wind from the south to get them this time.

This is a first for me, in the garden this afternoon, net says it's a COMMA .

The one in the photos above is a Small Tortoiseshell.
The Comma looks a bit washed out but that may be a trick played by your camera's metering.

The Comma could be that shade though, couldn't it - it could be just paler than most - maybe the colour was running out when it was its turn :butterfly:
