By sheer coincidence I saw two Robins sharing a similar space in my garden today. No fighting to report. :)

Three !! simultaneous robins today. Maybe the cold has temporarily halted hostilities.
They were all picking up the discards of sunflower hearts from the goldfinches. It's handy that they are such messy, profligate eaters :)

My wife and I were listening to a Robin singing last weekend; it had gone dark and we wondered why it was still singing.
This BBC item may be the answer ! ..............

It's like that here - birds singing every hour of the night and the light pollution is chronic.

They sound particularly loud in December and January - maybe due to the atmosphere/weather.

My pair of Robins have decided it's time to start a family. While I was having breakfast I spotted them looking at several different spots in the ivy on my front wall, then later on I saw them taking what looked to be nest building materials to the preferred site. :)
This particular site they have chosen must look ideal as it has been selected on several occasions previously by both Robins and Blackbirds. Sadly, to the best of my knowledge, there has never been a successful fledging from there. :(
I wish them all the luck in the world.
