I have one that turns up all over the garden.

A robin came to the front door this morning for food. I did see it down the path so got some mealworms. When I got out it was waiting. Had a nice fill and flew off. Hope it comes back for a video opportunity.

I read an interesting article about Robins in the BTO's weekly newsletter. We are all familiar with their habit of turning up whenever there is any human activity in the garden. We also know that some Robins become almost tame and will take food from our hands if it is offered.
Apparently these traits only apply to British Robins. Their European cousins have very little to do with humans and stay out of sight in thickets and woods.

Very interesting, can only wonder why that is so.

Had a robin following me around the garden every time I went out with food, did not want the suet pellets so guessed it wanted something else. So bought some large mini live mealworms and put them in the dish. That was last Saturday. See his missus comes in as well, though she is not so bold.

It looks like they have some nestlings to feed. I hope you've bought enough mealworms.

There was a fledgling robin in the garden this morning. Not too bad at flying, but with all the cats around here, it had better stay high up.

A very early fledgling. Well spotted Willpar.
