Shot through double glazing. But not bad though. Will have to clean the window.

Great video. The hawk had to have several goes at it though.

I think it is only pure luck when a Peregrine manages to snatch a bird when they are flocking like that. Their senses are tuned to identify a target and concentrate just on that. It was probably grabbing for an entirely different victim.

Yeah, it probably got lucky and it must have been pretty desperate since that was not an easy target. I thought predators don't attack them when they are murmutating

Starlings have a new feeder, deeper and bigger. Was getting spillage with the old one.

No takers yet though. Some landed in the tree but were reluctant to come down. May take a day or two.

No takers yet butterfly. That is four days now that they have not used it. They sure don't like change. But it is all there is, the old feeder was in bits and held together by wire. The new one cost me fourteen quid, so they will have to get used to it. Today not one came down on the tree, was looking down from the roof. But blue tits, the pied wagtails and a robin have used it and sparrows. No doubt when they are hungry enough things will change. It will only take one starling to take the plunge, and others will follow.

I wonder whats putting them off

. I changed their feeder few times, and yes, they look at it wearily at first, but that never lasted more than few hours or a day. You are right about it taking just one of them to take the plunge, and others following, they have their scouts

. I'm sure they will get used to it, if its in the same place as the old one
