They do have that up the Hope valley. In the little villages. It is a lovely spectacle.SnappyMac wrote: Sat Sep 06, 2025 3:35 pmI have been their many years ago, they had the well dressing.Bob S wrote: Sat Sep 06, 2025 1:04 pm A bit cloudy but up in the Peaks the weather is up and down. Still a nice few hours spent ending up with an ice cream at Hathersage (where Little Johns grave is supposedly) waiting for the train home![]()

Not sure if you have been to the village of Eyam close by in the Peaks. I think that's the furthest north the plague went in 1665. All still with the old houses with plaques on the walls telling who died there. The Riley graves where the whole family died. The stones with holes drilled in that were filled with vinegar to get money in to the village. I think 70% or so died and and the little village church tells it all.

Lots of fieldfares up in the Peaks this morning, feeding on the last of the berries.

Lovely shots Bob, hopefully when you berries are gone they'll head down to Snappy's to stop him moaning

lol. Cheers PB. They were great, both mixed in with the redwings. I've not really seen them in the local valley this year so good to come across them up there.PimperneBloke wrote: Sat Dec 13, 2025 1:37 pm Lovely shots Bob, hopefully when you berries are gone they'll head down to Snappy's to stop him moaning![]()
