Looks like cooler weather ahead. I went down to the railway bridge last week, no spawn or frogs. And water was running too freely. So i dont suppose it will be used by the frogs.

Slightly milder today and there were stirrings in the ponds again today. Heavy rain is forecast during Wednesday/Thursday which usually promotes a good deal of activity. I sometimes end up given the strays a lift back to the pond. :frog:

Over the past week I have been noticing disturbances in the water of my nature pond. This usually means that the frogs are getting restless in preparation for the spawning season. Today I spotted two in the classic spawning embrace so my first "blob" should be soon. :frog:  :frog:

A sudden upturn in the number of frogs visible in the ponds today plus the first blob of spawn of 2022. During tonight's rain many of them have come out of the pond and are wandering around the garden croaking and looking for a mate.

A rough count today reached 24 but there were probably more as when they are paired up you can only see one of them most of the time. :frog: :frog:

That is a lot JS, do you have room for all of them?

Just about. There are still minor tussles for space though. :frog: :prod: :frog:

No doubt it will sort itself out.
