We all gain comfort from Mother Nature's predictability, we know things are going to happen but it's lovely when they do: the first snowdrop, the first dropped autumnal leaf and the first frantic occupation of the back door window sill.
Yes, it's Wet Nurse Time again.

The folk memory of first-time dad, Bobbin, hit home this morning. It must be in his genes. Mealworms in freezer, all ready to be defrosted (7 secs in m'wave ) gets you a triumphant dad carrying home the spoils of his hunting foray (well, that's the theory anyway).
At the end of 3 weeks I shall be exhausted but we'll both feel good and so the cycle will begin again ........

Feeding Bobbin on the patio wall this a.m., everything normal. Suddenly from nowhere zoomed another robin and there was a sparring match down on the lawn. And then another robin appeared and both chased Bobbin (well, I presume it was he, it could have been any of the three).
They looked like a tight-knit section of The Red Arrows flying in formation !!

Didn't see himself again until mid-affie .

I think my pair of nesting Robins now have little mouths to feed. They have been very active in the vicinity of the nest today with much coming and going. I, for my part being mindful of the leasing agreement have ordered a kilo of live mealworms to help the youngsters grow up healthy.

Im glad you all have your Robin I have not seen my one for weeks,and weeks.

Saw one the other morning hopping on and off things - roof of bird house, small bird bath etc.

My pair of Robins have been mega-busy today. All of the morning and until around 3pm both birds were constantly coming and going with titbits for their little brood. I say little but I have no idea how many little ones are being catered for. I've got my fingers crossed now that the cries for food are not heard by some passing moggy.

Do you feed them especially, Jacksparrow ??
