I'm thinking the clicking is down to the limitations of the recording device and the distance involved. There was probably more hear but then again I maybe talking twaddle.

Possibly but I actually heard the clicking sound as it woke me up and I had no idea what it was. Looking around the internet, foxes can make a clicking noise when 'gekkering', which are aggression sounds so I assume it's that.

With the wetter weather, earthworms are back on the menu for the foxes. They're quite proficient at finding them.
