So I was out there this affie obeying the command; we were just chatting away as one does when down comes his chosen innamorata. We formed a sort of equidistant 4 ft triangle and he began a little sub-song to her.
Haven't heard that for ages and I was quite sure he was talking to her - I think he was saying that I'm harmless if a little barmy .
Smart Alec that Bobbin and not a bad judge of character either. :)

I have squatters on my property. A pair of Robins who have been flirting in my front garden for several weeks have decided to start a family. All fine so far but they have decided the ivy on the wall of my front garden is the ideal spot for them. No enquiries as to availability but straight in there without so much as a by your leave. Never mind though as all is not least as I have made out a rental agreement and will present it asap.

Stand down Placi as I have struck an agreement with the new tenants. I had to stand in front of the nest site to gain their attention. They were on the point of fitting in the brooding room and nursery so I think they are reaching a key stage. I will say this though, them Robins are good hagglers and in return for the agreed rent I have had to guarantee a supply of fresh mealworms. I insisted on a good twitter at dawn and dusk and we parted on good terms. :)

Definitely have a pair of Robins. Classic courtship with the male feeding the female. Won't be nesting in the garden though but probably the nearby wood.
