Tried with my video camera, but it was rubbish. So will wait to see what the garden cams turn up.

Just bought the little hedgehog in from the garden. Should not be out and about. Seems it is quite hungry and eating at the moment. Will release it back into the garden after dark.

I wonder if it's mother has gone missing?

Hi JS, would say the young hedgehog is old enough to fend for itself. The mothers do abandon them at around three months old. It has had a good feed and i have made up some food for it by softening dried cat food. Will release it into a covered feeder tonight with the made up cat food. That way it will know where it can get food. Just may be a shortage of natural food at the moment. But was hungry at the time of bringing it in.

Released the young hedgehog as planned last night into the covered feeder. Was not there this morning. When i went out to release it there were two adult hedgehogs in the garden. There may be another baby one as i had seen one that looked smaller, but not 100% sure on that.

Good to hear Willpar, I haven't seen any little ones in my garden. I really need to install a cam! I hear crunching though  , so I know they come to eat.

I think I did have a hog visit last night but the food taken was the least for six months.

back to something like normal last night. Two hogs visited and much of the food was eaten.
